StoneCo Development, LLC., founded in 2003 by Bob Stone, builds custom homes and high-end remodels in the West Georgia/East Alabama area. As StoneCo began, we concentrated primarily on building "spec" houses on Lake Wedowee. We have now become much more a "job-order" business as we now have the capabilities for design as well as construction and we are determined to satisfy the demands of our customers. Although our main concentration is residential construction, we are licensed and insured in Georgia AND Alabama for residential and commercial construction and development.
Budgeting the job is important in all construction projects. Andy Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of StoneCo, manages all of StoneCo's company accounting and project costs, and is great at providing accurate estimates for projects. To ensure that the project stays on track financially, Andy keeps the records up-to-date on a daily basis
Getting the idea on paper is up to Max Fulbright, StoneCo's home designer and Chief Operating Officer. Joining the StoneCo team in 2004, Max provides the ability for StoneCo to offer customers unique designs for their homes. He has many stock plans available but specializes in designing the perfect home for each individual customer and their lot. Once home construction is under way, Max is in charge of scheduling, customer selections and quality control. He is 100% dedicated to customer satisfaction. He brings to the table the ability to oversee the project throughout its entire life cycle; from the drawing table to the door knobs.
Bob Stone graduated from Georgia Tech in 1962 with bachelor's degree in Industrial Management, and continued on to receive his Master's in Business Administration in 1965. In 1971, he founded Systems and Methods, Inc. (SMI), which has become an industry leader in child support payment and social services information processing. He founded StoneCo in 2003 when he noticed a unanimous interest in development on Lake Wedowee. Bob recently handed the reigns of CEO to Andy Johnson, former CFO, however he still has a great deal of involvement in the company. Bob and his wife, Tish, of more than 45 years, have 6 children, 6 children-in-law, and 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Bob and Tish reside in Carrollton, Georgia, but frequent their lake home on Lake Wedowee most weekends.
Andy Johnson graduated from Carrollton High School in 2000. In 2003, he began handling StoneCo's accounting records and project budgets while he finished obtaining his bachelor's degree in Accounting from the State University of West Georgia. After graduating from West Georgia in 2004, he began working with the accounting department at Systems and Methods while continuing his work with StoneCo. Andy graduated in August 2006 with his Masters of Business Administration from West Georgia. He now holds the position of Chief Executive Officer of StoneCo, as Bob Stone retired from the position in August 2006. Andy and his wife, Brooke, have recently been blessed with their first child, Drew.
Max Fulbright joined the StoneCo team in 2004. Max graduated from Georgia Tech in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering. He has 19+ years experience in home designs and construction. Max recently took position of Chief Operating Officer for StoneCo, managing all projects and handling all sub-contractors. Max and his wife, Sherry, of 23 years, have 6 children. They reside in Carrollton, Georgia but frequently visit their new cottage at Possum Trot on Lake Wedowee.
